How to: Whiten your Teeth at Home

"We got the glow in our mouths" for any of you Lorde fans out there! If you have no idea what that has to do with this post go listen to the song "White Teeth Teens" by Lorde!

Achieving white teeth can either be a temporary fix, super expensive, or painful. But the Plus White Whitening Gel is a miracle worker. I've been using this for years and swear by it. After just one use you can see a difference!

What you need:

1. Plus White 5 Minute Premier Speed Whitening Gel I buy mine at Walmart for $4.97
2. A clear sports mouth guard, also found at Walmart in the sports section for $0.97 each.
3. A pot to boil water in.
4. Tongs

What to do:

water

  1. Run water into a pot and put it on the stove to start boiling the water.

Mouth Trays

2. Drop the mouth guard into the boiling water and let them take a swim for 20-30 seconds. It is very important to watch closely because if you leave them in the water too long they will become too melted and it won't work.

 3. After they have been in the water for 20-30 seconds remove them with the tongs. If your tray doesn't seem really bendable you didn't leave it in long enough and you can try again.

4. Immediately after removing them from the water place the mouth guard either on the top row of teeth or your bottom, whichever tray you are making at the time. Just firmly press the tray onto the teeth. Sometimes it helps to suck in and push the tray with your tongue. When you are finished with that you will have your own customized teeth trays molded just for your teeth. (Buy an extra mouth guard for the bottom teeth)

Plus White Gel

5. Lastly fill the tray with the whitening gel. Leave on your teeth for 5 minutes for maintenance or 15-20 minutes for stained teeth.

That's it! It's so easy and incredibly affordable! You can buy the gel and make your own trays for less than $10. And it actually works!

The Plus White brand does actually have a kit that includes a tray, but I like to make my own because they are customized to my teeth, plus, the gel will get in-between teeth, not just on the front. I don't recommend whitening the top and bottom teeth at the same time, that just turns into a big mess.

I've tried many whitening products over the years and yea they may work temporarily but over time either your teeth become uber sensitive or they become immune to what you are using and completely stop working.

Don't forget, today is the LAST day to enter my GIVEAWAY!

If you try this let me know in the comments below! :)
